Thai Yoga Massage (Nuad Bo-rarn) is an ancient healing body therapy which dates back over 2500 years at the time of Buddha.

It was brought to Thailand from India along with the Buddhist faith. At that time the missionary monks were trained as healers and the temple, the wat, was the health care center for the common people.

The technique used is based on the concept of invisible energy lines (sen) running along our bodies and that our life energy is supplied through these energy lines. Thai Yoga Massage focuses on ten key energy lines and by stimulating them, blocked energy can be released and flow more freely.

With its origins deep within the traditions of Buddhist culture, it is not surprising that Thai Yoga Massage should have implications of a spiritual nature. It’s believed the practitioner is healing the recipient by giving ‘metta’. This is the Buddhist practice of ‘loving kindness’ and is transferred through the hands of the giver to the receiver.
